Georgia Peach Queens preparing for annual Georgia Peach Festival

Teen Miss Georgia Peach and Little Miss Georgia share their excitement for the upcoming Georgia Peach Festival.

PEACH COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The 2024 Georgia Peach Queens are preparing for the upcoming Georgia Peach Festival.

Miss Georgia Peach, Teen Miss Georgia Peach, Junior Miss Georgia Peach, Little Miss Georgia Peach, and Tiny Miss Georgia Peach will be at the Georgia Peach Festival. The Georgia Peach Queens will be in the parade and also signing autographs.

“It means so much,” says Skye Harris, Little Miss Georgia Peach. “I was so happy once I won because then I get to see so many of my pageant sisters, and I just get to hang out with them and everything.”

Mia Loyd, Teen Miss Georgia Peach, says the Georgia Peach Festival is the only state-sanctioned food festival. Loyd says the event is a way to honor peach growers who contribute to our state’s economy.

While Loyd shares her excitement for the pageant and upcoming events, she says she is most excited for the world’s largest peach cobbler.

Loyd says “It’s made of 75 gallons of freshly sliced Georgia peaches, 150 pounds of sugar, 150 pounds of self-rising flour, 32 gallons of milk and 90 pounds of butter.”

The 38th annual Georgia Peach Festival begins Saturday in Fort Valley and will continue next weekend in Byron.
