WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The City of Warner Robins announces it has been selected by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to receive a $1 million Multipurpose Grant.

The money will be used for the redevelopment and cleanup of the Commercial Circle area, a key project aimed at transforming brownfield sites into productive, community-enhancing spaces. Brownfields are properties where the presence or potential presence of hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants may complicate their expansion, redevelopment, or reuse.

“We are thrilled to receive this EPA Brownfields Grant,” said Mayor LaRhonda W. Patrick. “This funding will enable us to address environmental issues and reawaken the Commercial Circle area, ultimately benefiting the entire community both environmentally and economically.”

The grant will support a variety of activities, including environmental assessment, cleanup planning, community engagement, and site redevelopment. These efforts are expected to spur economic development, create jobs, and improve public health and the environment.
