Level 3/5 threat for multiple waves of strong to severe storms possible
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Good morning! Today we have a level 3/5 risk from the storm prediction center for the threat of multiple waves of strong to severe thunderstorms. The first wave will be late this morning through the afternoon. A Tornado watch has been issued for the first wave until 1 pm. The counties in the watch are Baldwin, Bibb, Butts, Crawford, Hancock, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Monroe, Peach, Putnam, Twiggs, Upson, Washington and Wilkinson County. The second wave which could be a bit stronger is going to be overnight into Friday morning. The main threats are damaging winds, some significant above 74 mph. A tornado can not be ruled out.
