Woman arrested for theft by deception in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 32-year-old Destiny Danyell Magoon for twelve counts of felony theft by deception.
Magoon operated a telemarketing business that offered to create mementos for customers.
According to Sheriff Joel Cochran, customers mailed irreplaceable items of deceased loved ones to Magoon and never received the product or the items returned.
This is an active investigation. There are more than 200 victims from 25 states.
