State prisoners will soon have face mask because they’re making them
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Inmates at several Georgia State Prisons are helping to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
According to a news release from the Georgia Department of Corrections, inmates are making non-medical grade face masks.
Production started March 31 at Central, Hancock, and Pulaski State Prisons.
Each staff member and inmate at all GDC facilities will receive two hand washable masks.
Georgia Correctional Industries, the company that sells goods manufactured by state prisoners, says inmates will produce about 85,000 masks.
