According to Jennifer Sanders, the Project Search instructor for Bibb County School District, the program has seen many success stories.
“Two of my interns last year that got hired in catering are doing phenomenal,” Sanders shared.
The program provides students with training to transition from school into the workforce and even includes job placement.
Sanders expressed her desire for more employers in the area to become aware of the program and the talented individuals it serves.
“I want the community to know more about this program and to know that our kids are worth hiring,” she said. “They are phenomenal.”
Jackson, who signed on to participate in Project Search, expressed his desire to learn and gain experience.
“Just do what I need to get a job,” Jackson said.
Through the program, students can participate in three 10-week job rotations around Middle Georgia State’s campus in areas like catering, the cafeteria, Starbucks, the conference center and the library.
