Lockdown lifted for Howard High School and Middle School

Campus Police are working with local law enforcement to follow-up on the intruders and any charges as a result of this incident.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Howard High School and Howard Middle School were on lockdown after two intruders were reported on campus on Friday.

The two intruders were identified as former Howard High School students. The high school campus was placed on emergency lockdown from 8:40 a.m. to 9:10 a.m.

The high school campus was placed on emergency lockdown to ensure the safety of students and staff. Howard Middle School was also placed on emergency lockdown since it is an attached site.

Campus police searched the building and reviewed footage that identified the intruders leaving the building. The emergency lockdown was lifted once the campus was cleared.
