GHSA HIGHLIGHTS & SCOREBOARD: Perry & West Laurens Split their respective series

GHSA Second Round Playoff Baseball Highlights and Scoreboard

MIDDLE GEORGIA – (41NBC/WMGT) – In GHSA AAAA Second Round playoff action, Perry split their series with Whitewater. After the Panthers lost game one 18-8, Perry won game two by a score of 3-2 on the backs of solid hitting and a great game on the mound from Miles Jones, who after giving up two runs to Whitewater in the Bottom Third inning, threw at least eight K’s and retired six of seven Whitewater batters in the Bottom Fourth and Bottom Fifth innings to put his team in position to win.

On the other side of the GHSA AAAA Tournament Bracket, West Laurens faced Troup County in Second Round play. The Raiders gave up two runs out the gate but tied it back up after scoring on a wild pitch and a ground out RBI. Tied at 2-2 after one. However, from there the Raiders scored two more runs in the following innings, and two more runs in the Bottom Sixth to win Game One 6-4. However, Troup County would win Game Two by a final score of 4-2, to split the series at one game apiece.

Both Perry and West Laurens play their deciding game three on Thursday at 5:30pm.

Houston County swept Evans County (10-1 Run Rule, 12-3). They advance to the Elite Eight where they will face the winner of Lassiter/Newnan on May 6th.

GHSA AA:

Toombs County swept Washington County (6-1, 7-0). They advance to the Elite Eight where they will head to west Atlanta and face Rockmart on May 6th.
