UPDATED SCORES & HIGHLIGHTS: East Laurens Boys Soccer advance to Elite Eight for first time in program history

EAST DUBLIN, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – The East Laurens Falcons (13-4-1) defeated the Brooks County Trojans (9-4) at home 3-1 to advance to the program’s first ever Elite Eight.

After Hunter Selby scored the first goal, the Falcons allowed another goal to tie things up at one within the first 20 minutes of the game.

However, in the second half, it was East Laurens as Hunter Selby scored his second goal of the game with 26 minutes left.

Then with 10 minutes left, the Trojans commit a penalty in the box and give Riley ‘Peanut’ Senn a free penalty kick. He scores to seal the game at 3-1 for the Falcons victory.

The boys join the girls in the 1A D1 Elite Eight after the Lady Falcons beat Irwin County 3-0 Tuesday night on the very same field.

Wheeler County gets the 3-1 victory over Towns County to advance to the Boys Elite Eight in 1A D2 play.

GMC Prep boys advance onto the 1A D2 elite eight as well with a 10-0 win over Washington Wilkes.

In 3A play, the Trojan Boys from Peach County were eliminated by Morgan County with a final score of 4-2.

Mary Persons girls fall to Columbus 1-0 while the boys lose their game with Columbus 3-0.
