HIGHLIGHTS: East Laurens advances to GHSA 1A D-1 Elite Eight

The East Laurens Falcons (19-1) advance with a 4-0 shutout victory over the Irwin County Indians (8-3-2)

EAST DUBLIN. Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – The East Laurens Falcons (19-1) advance to the GHSA 1A D-1 Elite Eight with a 4-0 shutout victory over the Irwin County Indians (8-3-2) at home on Tuesday.

The Lady Falcons were lead by forwards Madison Johnson and Jayla Givens on the attack.

East Laurens will face Whitefield Academy at home on April 29th.

In other second round games,

Bleckley County moves on to the elite eight in the 1A D-1 tournament with a 4-0 shutout over Bacon County. They will face the winner of Oglethorpe County and Paideia on Aprrl 29th.

Hawkinsville gets the 3-0 victory over Echols County in 1A D-2 second round play. They will face off with the winner of Towns County and Christian Heritage on April 29th.

GMC Prep ends their season to Portal with a 6-0 loss.

Wheeler County takes down Dooly County 4-0 at home to advance to the 1A D-2 elite eight where they will face Lake Oconee on April 29th.

Johnson County advances to the 1A D-2 elite eight with a 1-0 win on the road over Atkinson county.  They will face Atlanta Class April 29th.
