Cordele man injured while fleeing shooting

CORDELE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Cordele Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man injured.
Cordele police responded to a shots fired call at the Party Shop on 204 24th Avenue West around 1:15 a.m. on April 21.
Officers say they were told by citizens that the suspects had fled the area. Police found a car had been hit by gunfire, but found no one inside.
911 Dispatchers told officers a possible victim was receiving treatment at Crisp Regional Hospital. Officers made contact with the 30-year-old man, who was suffering from a gunshot wound in his foot.
According to Cordele Police, the man was injured while fleeing the scene of the shooting. Officers say his injuries were not life-threatening.
