UPDATE: Man arrested for fatal shooting on Cedar Avenue

UPDATE (6/12/24): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Willie James Haugabrook III in connection with the death investigation of Gregory William Thomas.
The fatal shooting took place on April 14 in the 1900 block of Cedar Ave.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, investigators identified Haugabrook as the suspect involved in connection with fatal shooting. Haugabrook had warrants issued for his arrest.
Deputies found Haugabrook inside a home in the 4200 block of Pinedale Drive around 10:18a.m. Wednesday morning.
Haugabrook is currently being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond. Haugabrook faces charges of murder and unrelated charges of hit and run and theft by taking motor vehicle.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)— The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that took place in the 1900 block of Cedar Avenue on Sunday.
Deputies responded to a duplex on Cedar Avenue just before 9:30 p.m.
Deputies discovered 36-year-old Gregory William Thomas, suffering from gunshot wounds. Thomas was at a gathering and was on the front porch when gunshots were heard. Thomas was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
The incident is currently under investigation.
