Macon Mental Health Matters set to host ‘Wellness Weekend’

Events begin April 12 and go until April 14.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon Mental Health Matters is set to host a ‘Wellness Weekend.’ The lineup of events begin April 12 and go until April 14.

Andrea Cooke, Director of Development at The Southern Center for Choice Theory, LLC and with Macon Mental Health, says Macon Mental Health Matters hosts a ‘Wellness Weekend’ every second weekend of the month.

“We have tried to normalize the conversation about mental health,” Cooke says. “We do that by getting people excited every second weekend of the month to do mental health activities that engage more people and break down that barrier to access services.”

The ‘Wellness Weekend’ includes yoga in the plaza, a mental health pop-up gym and a healing hike.
