Downtown Macon Welcomes Two New Businesses
Today, NewTown Macon held a ribbon cutting ceremony for two new additions to Second Street. Red Light Tobacco and Hush moved in right next door to each other.
“This wasn’t our only location we were looking at, but we thought it was the best one, everyone was nice, they accepted us, and we’re really excited about our store. We just love the community,” says Grace Burgess, owner, Red Light Tobacco.
Next door to Red Light Tobacco, shoppers can pop into Hush. It’s a consignment boutique that sells ‘women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing and accessories. One of the three owners, Kori McDaniel, says her and her partners are excited to move in downtown.
“We all have strong connections here in downtown Macon, and we wanted to be a part of the revitalization within downtown, and we chose this location. We love being here right next to Cherry Street but not quite in the hustle.”
Both shops will be open late tonight. They are encouraging anyone in downtown for First Friday to stop in and see what they have.
