Takeo Spikes part of 2024 NFHS National High School Hall of Fame
Former Washington County High School football legend and NFL Star Takeo Spikes will be a member of the 2024 class inducted into the The National Federation of State High School Associations National High School Hall of Fame.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Former Washington County High School football legend and NFL Star Takeo Spikes will be a member of the 2024 class inducted into the The National Federation of State High School Associations National High School Hall of Fame.
1994’s Atlanta Journal Constitution and Region player of the year spent his four years with the Golden Hawks, catching 40 passes for almost 800 yards and 22 touchdowns while playing tight end.
The former Auburn linebacker also accumulated close to 240 tackles and three interceptions as a linebacker.
With Spikes, Washington County won three straight region titles from 1992-1994. The Golden Hawks won their first ever state championship, going a perfect 15-0 and never allowing more than 14 points in one game all season.
He joins the 2024 class with Joe Mauer, Tyrone Wheatley, Dot Ford Burrow, Paula Kirkland, Gary Rankin, Roy Snyder, Ronald Vincent, David Gore, Mike Colbrese and Marie Ishida as members of the NFHS National High School Hall of Fame.
Spikes is already a member of the Sports Halls of Fame in Alabama and Georgia.
