ASHEVILLE, North Carolina – (41NBC/WMGT) – The Mercer men and women were both in Asheville Friday afternoon for their respective SOCON tournament games.

The women of Mercer battled Chattanooga in the SOCON Tournament Semifinal on Friday for a chance to play in the championship game.

The Bears kept toe to toe with the #1 seed in the conference, as Summah Evans scored 13 points, to go along with 7 boards, 2 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 assists.

Briana Peguero had a good day on the hardwood, adding 8 points, two boards and two steals as well.

Mercer was up 40-39 after three quarters, but gave up 27 points in the fourth quarter to fall one game short of the championship.

66-55 was the final to end their season.
