Forsyth, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Many high school students are getting ready to attend the magical night with their friends. However, the cost of prom can be a burden for many families, especially when it comes to purchasing a dress.

One local store is offering a solution for budget-conscious shoppers. Nikkits Thrifts and Treasures, located in Forsyth, has a variety of dresses available for prom night, with the most expensive dress priced at just $40.

The dresses range in size from 1 to 3X, ensuring that everyone can find the perfect fit.

In addition to dresses, the store also offers tiaras, jewelry and matching shoes for $10 or less.

According to store owner Nicole Tanner, prom doesn’t have to be expensive.

“Prom can be done on a budget,” she said. “If you don’t have a lot of money and you can’t buy a dress for $300 $400, people think they just can’t go or they won’t go, but you can.”

The store’s dresses originally cost anywhere between $200 to $300, but Tanner finds them at estate sales and other discounted sources, enabling her to sell them at a much lower price. The store also accepts donations, which can be dropped off in boxes located outside the store.

“We take donations. We’re open from 11 to six every day except Sunday. We have a table out front. We have boxes under that. You can put donations in any time. We appreciate anything,” Tanner said.

For those who are unable to drop off their donations, the store also offers pick-up services from your house. Nikkits is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
