WR International City Civitan Club Gives to Varnadoe Family
On Wednesday, members of the International City Civitan Club in Warner Robins presented the Varnadoe family with a check.
A couple months ago, a group of Warner Robins girls were trying to raise money for the Varnadoe’s and their ill son, Logan, when their lemonade stand was robbed.
The members of the International City Civitan Club gladly presented the family with a check just under $500.
The organization’s president Bob Watson says, “Civitan’s International Program is to have local clubs that do things to raise funds to help people in the community with special emphasis on children with developmental disabilities.”
The organization held a district convention in April to collect money from group members to give to the Varnadoe family.
Logan’s mother April says, “The response to the lemonade stand robbery itself has been a blessing from God. Mr. Watson and the International City Civitan Club went the extra mile and they actually took individual donations up from all over the state of Georgia for Logan.”
