Click it or Ticket Campaign Kicks Off in Middle Georgia

Law enforcement officials across the state of Georgia are putting extra attention into looking for seat belt violations, as a way to keep travelers safe this holiday weekend.

According to the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety,(GOHS) when seat belts are properly used, the risk of serious injury to a front seat passenger, is reduced by up to 50%.

The state of Georgia follows the Click It Or Ticket rule every day, but the campaign is a way to remind people that officers are always on the lookout.

Officers will be watching for seat belt violators day and night all week long, and are watching for passengers, as well as drivers who are not following the law.

The GOHS says, the campaign is not about raising money, it’s about raising survival rates. It also says, if you are not wearing your seat belt while driving, expect to be caught.
