15-year-old arrested after police chase, crash in Dooly County
The chase began Sunday around 7:30 a.m. on GA 401/I75 near mile marker 103 after a deputy attempted to stop the driver of a white Hyundai Sante Fe reported stolen out of Florida.

SPARTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, along with other law enforcement agencies, arrest a 15-year-old after a police chase.
According to the sheriff’s office, the chase began Sunday around 7:30 a.m. on GA 401/I75 near mile marker 103 after a deputy attempted to stop the driver of a white Hyundai Sante Fe reported stolen out of Florida.
The deputy says the teenager failed to stop and drove recklessly at high rates of speed. The chase ended in Dooly County near mile marker 109 after the driver hit an electrical box, guard rail and fence.
The driver then ran from the scene, but was caught shortly after. He was cleared medically by Dooly County EMS personnel and taken to a youth detention facility.
Deputies discovered multiple credit cards, I.D. cards, a ski mask, and a screwdriver in the vehicle.
The 15-year-old from Brandon, Florida, faces the following charges:
- Fleeing or Attempting to Elude
- Theft by Receiving Stolen Property
- Speeding in Excess of Maximum Limits
- Failure to Maintain Lane
- (13) Counts Financial Transaction Card Theft
- Financial Identity Fraud
- Theft by Bringing Stolen Property into the State
- (2) Counts Obstructing or Hindering Law Enforcement Officers and Numerous Traffic Violations.
