Council Woman Beverly Blake’s Big Announcement

After serving for two months as an interim representative for Ward 5, council woman Beverly Blake is stepping down. Blake will now be a resident of Ward 1. She is not be allowed to stay in her current position.

“What I’ve learned on council is that, first of all it’s very hard to govern and democracy is lot’s of compromies, but I’ve lso learned that if the citizens are involved, then council cannot do it’s job as well as it needs to do. So I look forward to just being a citizen involved in the life of this community.”

Blake says she will continue to serve the city of Macon as program director for the Knight Foundation.
