Middle Georgia Celebrates Earth Day

All over Middle Georgia, residents and communities opened their arms and embraced the outdoors. Today was about connecting with the earth and remembering that preserving natural resources is essential for the future.

The Boys and Girls Club of Central Georgia offered indoor and outdoor educational. Children at the club made solar ovens out of pizza boxes and brought home lima beans to grow.

“It’s really important for them to be outside and think about what nature is and what it means to them,” says Sarah Rosch, Project Manager of the Boys & Girls Club.

Over at the Joshua House, young children prepared their own community garden that will be planted tomorrow.

“Being able to show our children how God gave us the earth and how the earth can give back to us through God’s hands, that’s what today is about,” says Pastor Hollis Eason, Joshua House.
