Severe Weather Update for Tuesday
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Good afternoon, today we will see mostly cloudy skies with temperatures making it in the the mid 50s this afternoon. A pretty robust system is on it’s way towards middle Georgia overnight and tomorrow. As we head into the evening hours rain will start to move into our southern counties. The entirety of middle Georgia will see rain and possibly a thunderstorm overnight. Overnight we will see gradient wind ramp up to 20-25 mph gusting up to 40-45 mph. This will last into the the afternoon as a wind advisory is in affect until 7am Wednesday. Now let’s get into to the details of the severe weather threat expected Tuesday morning into the afternoon hours. A level 3/5 risk is on tap for most of our area from Warner Robins to the south, and a level 2/5 risk to the north. It is important to not pay attention to what risk you’re in as all of middle Georgia has the chance of seeing severe weather. A line of thunderstorms will move through our western counties around 7-10am, middle counties 10am-12pm, and our eastern counties from 12pm to 2pm. This line will be bringing the chance of damaging winds, heavy rain, and the slight chance of a tornado with it.
