Cold day ahead

Bone chilling cold temperatures across the area this morning we saw temperatures from 23 to 30 degrees this morning. We even had areas with a wind chill below 20 degrees. As we head through the day today we will see clouds start to move in to Middle Georgia. Today’s afternoon high will be in the low 50s. Tomorrow morning we will see another cold start across the area in the upper 20s to low 30s. You will definitely need the jacket for tomorrows commute to work. Thursday afternoon we will be in the upper 50s with mostly sunny skies. Thursday evening around 10:27pm winter solstice will occur which marks the official start of winter. Overnight temperatures will be much warmer on Friday morning. Friday we will see clouds and highs in the 60s. That will be the same for us on Saturday. On Christmas Eve we will have overcast skies and temperatures in upper 60s. As we head into Christmas Eve night we will see a few showers. All day on Christmas will have a 70 percent chance of rain. Rainfall totals 1-2 inches expected.
