Medical Monday: National Stroke Awareness Month

MACON, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, strokes kills about 140,000 Americans each year. May is National Stroke Awareness Month.

Dr. Sourabh Lahoti , a neurologist with Coliseum Medical Centers, visited Daybreak to talk about the signs, risk factors and prevention of a stroke.

Coliseum Medical Centers in Macon has two stroke related events coming up. The 10 Must Know Facts About Stroke: Prevention, Treatment and Recovery event is Thursday May 2nd at 6 p.m. in building C, suite 120. The Stroke Stroll to Celebrate Survivors event is Thursday May 16th from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Coliseum Medical Centers Cafeteria.
