Macon’s Trash Could Create Cash

Your trash could be cash for the city of Macon.

Solutions to fix Macon‘s overrun landfill have been debated for awhile, but Tuesday night a new proposal came before Macon City Council.

Representatives with Southeast Renewables, a waste management company based out of Huntington-California, talked about the possibility of partnering with the city by collecting its waste and turning it into renewable energy.

Southeast Renewables requested a 15 year contract to establish a renewable energy and recycling plan in Macon and BibbCounty.
