Civil War Reenactment Comes to Perry Georgia
The Perry Area Historical Society will play host this weekend for Civil War reenactors, who will be depicting the lives of soldiers in camp.
“You’ll get to see different kinds of tents out here. You’ll get to see a few weapons, you’ll get to see how soldiers would have dressed,” reenactor Misti Randles said.
The Georgia 57th Regiment Reenactors will be on the back lawn of the Perry Area Historical Museum on Saturday, giving people the chance to an up-close-and-personal look at the daily struggles soldiers endured.
Randles’ brother-in-law, Daniel, will portray the life of a First Sergeant.
“This was, by all rights, what it was like. It wasn’t pleasant by no means. They were a much heartier breed of people back then.”
The living history reenactment will take place from 12:00p.m until 4:00p.m. on Saturday.
