Macon Burger Week 2023: Oh Honey Baking Co.’s ‘Macaron Burger’
We conclude our coverage of Macon Burger Week 2023 with a taste of something sweet instead of savory.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — We conclude our coverage of Macon Burger Week 2023 with a taste of something sweet instead of savory.
41NBC’s Draze Rozelle visited Ingleside and popped into Oh Honey Baking Co.
Their entry is the “Macaron Burger.” It’s a chocolate macaron shell filled with a ganache patty with strawberry compote and buttercream toppings. They also have a combo option, which is the macaron paired with a cold brew coffee and donut “tots.”
“The chocolate buttercream is probably the best part, it’s really rich,” owner and baker Adriana Horton said. “There’s like a lot of ganache in it, and so it’s just really flavorful. I’ve had people compare it to like fudgy brownies. The strawberry compote that’s in the middle adds like a little fresh touch to it.”
According to Oh Honey, ganache is a kind of sauce made by mixing semi-sweet chocolate with heavy whipping cream. Upon taking a bite, Rozelle says he was pleasantly surprised with a strong flavor.
“It’s very rich, in like a big ole punch of chocolate when you first bite into it which I love,” Rozelle said. “I am a sucker for chocolate. Anything chocolate I will pretty much try it, and this was great. The presentation of course is just beautiful. It looks like a little hamburger, but when you bite into it, it’s 100% a dessert.”
The donut tots were fried and reminded Rozelle of old-style donuts and funnel cake, while the cold brew coffee was strong with a hint of sweetness.
If you’re wanting a break from so much meat, Oh Honey Baking Co.’s Macaron Burger is a great pallet cleanser!
