Go-Kart Track About To Re-open in Warner Robins
If you’ve noticed a little change on the side of Highway 247, it’s because Patrice Hammond has been busy renovating the figure-eight go-kart racetrack.
Hammond is a contractor from Florida, who says a business venture like this is a way she can help kids in the community.
“The children have been coming by, and they’ve wanted to know, ‘Is fun still around?’ And we said, ‘There is still fun. Nice, clean fun.'”
Hammond has been painting, cleaning, re-modeling, and doing whatever it takes to get ready for the grand opening of the Raceway Fun Center.
But the catcher? Everything, including food and kart rides, will be free for children when they come in to play. At least, for a little while.
“We are truly blessed, and as parents and as adults and business owners, we need to reach out to those less fortunate,” Hammond explains.
Hammond also says, getting the place ready is not about her making money, it’s about having a safe, fun place, where kids will want to come and hang out.
Hammond plans to have the Raceway Fun Center open by April 22nd. She will have a free cookout (for the kids) for the first two weeks, plus prizes and games for everyone.
