Man Who Broke Into Auto Caught In The Act Saturday Morning By Police Officer On Patrol In Downtown Macon
Just before five Saturday morning, a Macon Police officer from Precinct One was checking the parking deck at MLK Blvd. and Mulberry Street while patrolling downtown.
The officer saw a black male sitting in a parked Mazda Miata with the driver’s side window broken out and apprehended him.
The suspect is identified as 54 year-old Grover White of Broadway Street. White was transported to the Bibb LEC and charged with Entering Auto and Theft by Taking.
Macon Police Chief Mike Burns and Precinct One Captain Eric Walker commend the officer who made the arrest.
“This is the eye for detail I expect from patrol officers,” said Chief Burns. “Many crimes are observed by officers making routine checks like this.”
