UPDATE: Deputies investigating deadly shooting in downtown Macon

MACON, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating another deadly shooting in the downtown Macon area.

Around 1:00am Friday, a patrol deputy found a man with a gun shot wound lying at the corner of Poplar and Third Streets.

The male victim was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones has identified the victim as 28-year-old Quinton Tylor Benyard of Eastman. Deputies say they believe Benyard was involved in a fight at a local night club, prior to the incident.

Investigators are now looking for a gold or tan GMC Yukon or Tahoe that was seen in the area when the incident occurred.
