Heavy rain and storms move into Middle Georgia on Friday
Good evening,
After all the rain over the weekend, we finally started to dry out…just in time for more rain to move into the area.
Heavy rain begins to move in this evening, and will be continuing through much of Friday and into the start of Saturday. A few thunderstorms will be possible through the day on Friday.
Main threats in any thunderstorms that do form will be damaging winds of 60 mph and heavy rains that could lead to flash flooding.
The heaviest rain will fall mainly south of Warner Robins, where some places could see over 3″ of rain. With already saturated soils from the weekend we could see some localized flash flooding in these areas, especially on Friday.
By Saturday the system begins to move out of the area, but scattered showers are still possible throughout the southeast. No huge temperature swings are expected through the long term forecast.
