Macon cemetery prepares for Wreaths Across America
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – This weekend, families across the nation will remember the men and women who died defending our country.
Wreaths Across America is a national day of recognition. For the sixth year, Riverside Cemetery is taking part in the wreath laying. Wreaths for the grave sites arrived this week.
Families, businesses or volunteers can now buy a wreath for the veterans in their family, who have passed away.
“When you’re doing something for someone who has passed away, it’s a wonderful thing, but if you can do it for a veteran somebody who has served their country and done for their country it’s even more special,” Riverside Cemetery President Susan Gordon said.
Wreaths Across America is Saturday at noon. There will be a ceremony at Riverside Cemetery in Macon.
