More rain and cooler temps on the way for Middle Georgia

Good evening,
We are still dealing with showers this evening as a front lingers just to our west.

The cold front will start to move in across Middle Georgia tomorrow afternoon and should clear the area by the evening. Right now it looks like most of the rain should be out of the area in time for kickoff for high school football games Friday night.

There will be the possibility of some strong showers in the area, mainly early in the afternoon. The main threats will be a few pockets of heavy rain, as well as damaging wind gusts. Much cooler air works its way into the southeast by Friday night into Saturday.

The cold air behind the front settles into the area for Saturday, but sunshine will help our highs stay in the 60’s. Enjoy the dry weather before a chance for showers moves in on Sunday night.

The threat for showers lingers well into next week, with the heaviest rain and potential for strong storms rolling in on Election Day (Tuesday). I would recommend voting early to insure that you aren’t waiting in line, in the rain ;).
