Georgia’s DDS Experiencing Driver License System Outage

The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) is working on a plan to open licensing locations this weekend and Monday, following a service outage Friday.

According to a statement from DDS, the driver license system outage is related to a problem with the vendor’s issuance software.  IDEMIA, the software vendor, has taken full responsibility for this outage and is applying all of its resources to restoring DDS’ service as quickly as possible.

“Georgia citizens can be assured that their personal data has not been compromised or otherwise put at risk as a result of this issue” said John Sennott, a Senior Vice President at IDEMIA.

DDS is working on a plan to open 41 DDS licensing locations on Saturday and 45 licensing locations on Monday.

More information will be posted on the DDS website and social media sites.
