Macon Plant Moving Operations To South Carolina
MACON, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – A Macon plant is moving its operations to South Carolina and taking several jobs with it.
Ingersoll Rand announced that it will stop manufacturing operations in Macon by the end of this year. The company is a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning manufacturer for brands like Thermo King and Trane.
Reps say the company will move all operations into a single location in Columbia, South Carolina in an effort to increase efficiency and improve customer service.
In a statement Ingersoll Rand says, “We are committed to supporting employees with competitive severance packages, on-site employee assistance program services, job placement services and the opportunity to apply for jobs at other company locations.”
In Columbia, SC, Ingersoll Rand plans to hire 750+ new manufacturing jobs in assembly, machinery, advanced manufacturing software support, engineering and more.
