Fire destroys building at Warner Robins apartment complex

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Dozens are looking for a place to stay after a fire Tuesday at a Warner Robins apartment complex.

The fire, which started just before 6 p.m., destroyed the C building at Castaways Apartments on Leisure Lake Drive.

41NBC spoke with a man who says his apartment was in the C building. He says residents knocked on doors to let people know to get out.

“Well I seen the flames coming from over there in the middle of the apartment, like in C19 or something like that,” said Henry Evans. “That’s where I seen the flames coming from. We had run and grabbed everybody out the house. Everybody’s now safe, thankful to God.”

There are no reports of injuries. We’re still working to learn the cause of the fire.

The American Red Cross was on scene assisting displaced residents.
