8th Annual Macon Film Festival Kicks Off in Downtown Macon
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Flicks, filmmakers, and fans are descending on downtown Macon today for the start of the 8th annual Macon Film Festival.
The festival brings folks from around the world to catch screenings of independent films looking to make it big. This year in the lineup there are several big awards nominees, including a screening of the Oscar-nominated Beasts of the Southern Wild.
Organizer Terrell Sandefur says if you’ve never attended a film festival before, it’s a ton of fun,
and the Macon Film Festival headquarters will answer all your questions.
“We’ve had a lot of people asking questions about how to “film fest” and all that stuff,” Sandefur says, “So if people have questions, this is the place for them to come–567 Cherry Street. We’ve got a bunch of people working, volunteers, our own staff that will answer a lot of questions. Every year it gets bigger, and we get the word out a bit better. I think that people are just excited because there’s been a real chatter, real buzz about it this year.”
The Macon Film Festival runs through Sunday, February 17th.
