UPDATE: GSP reveals identity, how child died in Bleckley County during accident
The fatal accident took place near the area of Porter Road and Westside School Road at 6:20 p.m. on November 8.

UPDATE (11/12): – An investigation by the Georgia State Patrol, reveals that 7-year-old Mitchell Holiday was standing on the back bumper and holding on to the rear of a white Expedition. According to GSP, the driver left a nearby residence, and after a short distance from the house, the child fell off the rear of the vehicle without the driver knowing he was ever there.

BLECKLEY COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 7-year-old boy is dead after a motor vehicle/pedestrian accident on Friday, according to Bleckley County Sheriff Daniel Cape.
The fatal accident took place near the area of Porter Road and Westside School Road at 6:20 p.m. on November 8.
The Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office, Cochran Police Department, Cochran Fire Department, and Heartland EMS all responded to the accident.
According to the press release, Georgia State Patrol was requested to respond, and troopers are investigating the incident.
Sheriff Cape says that it is not believed that any charges will be filed at this point.
The names of the deceased and those involved are being withheld.
Sheriff Cape released the following statement on Facebook:
“I’d like to take this opportunity to publicly express my condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and ask that each of you reading this do the same. As a community, this is a time to come together, mourn, and support the family, not just today but in the coming weeks and months, as this is not a burden to try to carry alone.”
