Cooler weather arrives shortly, rain through Saturday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The long, very warm period we’ve experienced is finally coming to an end. Today is the last day I’m putting 80s for highs, as it’ll be beneath the 80-degree mark for the rest of the 7-day.

Increased cloud cover is forecasted for the next several days as a southwesterly flow brings clouds and rain into the area. Today, our chance of rain will just be for the evening, mostly in counties south of I-16.

By Friday, another chance of rain exists, and Saturday is expected to be the rainiest of the three days as a batch of moisture rolls through Middle Georgia. This is associated with a cold front that will bring much cooler temperatures into the area, including lows in the low 30s early next week.
