Bibb County deputies search for suspect in south Macon shooting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the shooting of a man in South Macon.

According to a news release, Willie Barr was walking on Rice Mill Road when a man approached him from the back and demanded his possessions. Barr told the man he didn’t have anything and began to fight.

Barr says he heard a gunshot and ran away. He later noticed he had been hit by the bullet. He went to a house on Baker Drive. An ambulance transported him to a local hospital.

He is listed in stable condition.
