52 Teaching Positions Could Be Cut from Bibb Co. Schools

More than 50 BibbCounty teaching positions could be cut for the 2012 school year.

School officials say most of those cuts will not leave current teachers jobless. Many of those cuts will likely come in the form of retirement or cutting positions already vacant.

Thursday night Bibb County Superintendent Dr. Romain Dallemand presented a general fund budget preview to the board of education. In the preview, a total of 87 positions are slated to be cut and 52 of those are teaching positions.
