51-year-old man taken to hospital after early morning accident

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the single vehicle traffic accident.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle traffic accident, that occurred Thursday at 2:30 a.m.

Witnesses told the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office that a 51-year-old male driver was traveling on I-75 North, and at the Arkwright Road off-ramp, the vehicle left the roadway and hit a sign and guardrail.  Then, the vehicle went down an embankment.

During the accident, the driver was ejected from the vehicle before being taken to Atrium Health Navicent.

He’s currently listed in critical condition.

This accident is under investigation.
