45-Year-Old Man Shot on Mercer University Drive in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 45-year-old man was injured in a shooting late Monday night on Mercer University Drive, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded just before 11 p.m. June 22 to the 4000 block of Mercer University Drive following reports of a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found a 45-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies performed life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. Emergency crews treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital for further treatment.

Medical staff reported the victim was listed in stable condition.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
