FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The 37th Annual Forsythia Festival is set to kick off this weekend in the historic downtown square, despite the possibility of rain on Saturday.

Visitors can expect a jam-packed event filled with various activities for everyone in the family.

The Kids’ Corner will be a highlight, with inflatable obstacle courses and pony rides to entertain the little ones. There will also be plenty of mouth-watering food and music, with 200 vendors expected to attend the festival this year.

One of the new vendors attending this year’s festival is Peach State Sunset Slush. They serve delicious treats, including blue raspberry and pina colada flavored slushies. Despite the weather conditions, the owner of Peach State Sunset Slush is excited about the festival and ready to serve anyone who braves the rain to attend.

Rebecca Stone, President and CEO of Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce, said the festival is expected to be the “biggest yet,” with preparations throughout the year to ensure everything runs smooth.

Also, the city says pets are not allowed at the festival but service animals are welcome.
