Scattered showers possible Friday in Middle GA

No big changes on the way to the forecast for Middle Georgia to end the week (sorry if you were looking for last weekends’ fall weather).

Ahead of an approaching cold front we will continue to see high humidity, warmer than normal temperatures, and scattered showers and storms through the afternoon.

A few of these storms could linger into kickoff for football tomorrow evening, but severe weather is not expected.

As the cold front gets closer to Middle Georgia we will see increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms, especially during the late afternoon/early evening.

Behind this cold front we won’t see much of a drop in temperature, as highs will remain in the 80’s for much of next week.

Although we will see a few cold fronts push through between now and the end of next week, we won’t see much of a change in our general forecast.

Scattered showers will be possible most days of the next 7, with the most significant rain coming late next week. Although the front is still pretty far out, we could see a few strong storms as it moves through.
Not only will storms be possible through next week, but we will finally see a bit of a cool down.

Maybe not the drastic change that models were suggesting a few days ago, but enough to bring temperatures back close to normal.

I should note that normal high temperatures on Halloween in Macon are around 73 degrees.

Also of note, Epsilon has weakened in the Atlantic back to a category 1 hurricane. We are still not expecting any direct impacts to land in the US, but rip currents will be likely along the East Coast through the weekend.
