FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Three Fort Valley teenagers were arrested on Sunday in connection with at least 16 vehicle break-ins that occurred overnight across multiple communities, according to Fort Valley Police Chief DJ Flores.
Officers first responded to a report of a vehicle break-in on Newton Street, according to the Fort Valley Police Department. While canvassing the area, officers stopped three males on bicycles — Kameron Lamorris Carson, Gary Red Nottingham and Kamarion Maurice Thomas, all 17 — and determined they were involved in the break-in in progress.
Further investigation revealed the three were connected to a total of at least 16 vehicles that had been unlawfully entered, police said. Officers recovered stolen items including personal identification, electronics, cash and other valuables.
Detectives later interviewed the suspects, who were charged with 16 counts of entering automobiles with intent to commit theft and two counts of possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
Chief DJ Flores praised both community members and officers for their roles in the investigation.
“These arrests demonstrate what we can achieve when residents remain alert and share information with us. We want to thank those who came forward to help protect their neighborhoods,” Flores said.
He added: “This case represents outstanding police work. Our officers and detectives worked tirelessly to identify these individuals and prevent further crimes. Their quick action has directly contributed to the safety of our communities.”
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fort Valley Police Department.
