3 accidents delay interstate traffic, 13 vehicles involved
Macon, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Three separate accidents delayed traffic on Interstate 75 and Interstate 16. The accidents were reported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office around 8:23 a.m. Friday.
In the first accident a driver says she was traveling in the left lane and was rear ended as traffic came to a stop. No injuries were reported.
The second accident happened behind the first. A vehicle in the left lane rear ended a vehicle that stopped because of the first accident. The accident caused a chain reaction of accidents with 7 vehicles involved. Two people were taken to the hospital.
In the third, a GMC Truck hit a vehicle in the back after traffic in the right lane of I-75 stopped due to the previous accidents. This caused a chain reaction involving 4 vehicles. Two people were taken to the hospital.
The interstate was cleared around 9:45 a.m.
