MTA offering free rides for canned goods

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – You still have time to show your support for the Loaves & Fishes Ministry of Macon by participating in the Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority’s “Food for Fare” benefit.

If you donate 2 cans of food, you will receive one free ride. On the para-transit side, you can get a free ride if you donate 4 cans of food.

This initiative is only happening Wednesday until the last bus returns to the terminal.

You’ll find a box in front of each bus to collect the canned goods. Officials will empty the boxes at the Terminal Station at the end of each trip.

The donated canned goods will be delivered to Loaves & Fishes Thursday.
