Man who doused store clerk with lighter fluid could get life in prison
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – a Macon man is facing life in prison after he doused a GameStop clerk with lighter fluid.
25-year-old Derrick Lamb was found guilty of armed robbery and aggravated assault Wednesday.
Back in June 2016, authorities say Lamb walked into the location on Presidential Parkway and appeared to be shopping before he pulled out a bottle of lighter fluid and squirted it on a clerk.
Authorities say he demanded money and threatened to set the clerk on fire if he didn’t comply. He got the money and ran away.
Lamb was later identified in a photo line-up as the suspect who robbed the store.
Lamb waived his right to a jury trial which allowed Bibb County Superior Court Judge Howard Simms to rule on the case.
Officials say he will be sentenced after the completion of a pre-sentencing investigation.
